Description
This painting is acrylic on back stapled canvas. It is 11"w x 14"h.
Kokopelli was one of the earliest Spirit Figures depicted in the ancient art and petroglyphs of the North American Southwest. He was usually depicted as a dancing humpbacked flute player. He was believed to have many roles in those ancient times -- as a patron of music, as a bringer of fertility, and as a rain maker. He was also believed to be something of a trickster. Some of the Kokopelli images are thousands of years old. This is my modern take on this important spirit of the Southwest.
